Soliris is a complement inhibitor prescribed for:
- -Reducing hemolysis in patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).
- -Inhibiting complement-mediated thrombotic microangiopathy in patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS).
Warning & Precautions
Patients receiving Soliris should be closely monitored for early signs and symptoms of meningococcal infection, and any suspected infections should be promptly assessed. Exercise caution when administering eculizumab injections to patients with any systemic infections.
After discontinuing eculizumab, patients should be monitored for at least 8 weeks to detect any signs of hemolysis. If patients experience severe infusion reactions while using Soliris, the injection should be interrupted, and appropriate medical therapy should be provided.
