EVRYSDI is a medication designed to modify the splicing of the survival of motor neuron 2 (SMN2) gene, used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in both children and adults.. This disorder is marked by the degeneration of lower motor neurons and progressive muscle wasting, which can often result in early mortality.
- -Active ingredient: risdiplam
- -Inactive ingredients: ascorbic acid, disodium edetate dihydrate, isomalt, mannitol, polyethylene glycol 6000, sodium benzoate, strawberry flavor, sucralose, and tartaric acid.
Warning & Precautions
Avoid inhaling or allowing direct contact with skin or mucous membranes when handling the dry powder or the reconstituted solution. It should not be used in patients with hepatic impairment. Before starting treatment, confirm that the patient is not pregnant. Advise women of childbearing potential to use effective contraception during treatment and for at least one month after the final dose. There is a potential risk of male infertility. Nursing mothers should also take precautions.
