Normosang, a form of Human Hemin derived from human blood, is used to treat acute attacks of hepatic porphyria. It is effective in managing three types of hepatic porphyria: Acute Intermittent Porphyria, Porphyria Variegata, and Hereditary Coproporphyria
Warning & Precautions

Administer the diluted solution of Normosang via a very slow intravenous infusion, as it is hypertonic. To prevent vein irritation, the infusion should be given over at least 30 minutes in a large vein in the forearm or a central vein.
Test the cannula before starting the infusion and check it regularly during the process. The dark color of Normosang may cause the plasma to appear unusually colored.
