Medical Use
Anagrelide Hydrochloride Capsules are prescribed for patients with thrombocythemia, which is secondary to myeloproliferative disorders. They help lower elevated platelet counts, reduce the risk of thrombosis, and alleviate related symptoms, including thrombo-hemorrhagic events.
Warning & Precautions
Anagrelide use is restricted in patients with severe hepatic impairment due to significantly increased exposure in those with moderate hepatic impairment.
For patients with known or suspected heart disease, anagrelide 0.5 mg should be used cautiously, only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
In cases of moderate hepatic impairment, a dose reduction is necessary, and patients should be closely monitored for cardiovascular effects.
Liver function tests (ALT, AST) should be conducted before starting anagrelide 1 mg treatment and periodically during therapy.
