Medical Use

Eldisine is an anti-neoplastic medication administered intravenously, either alone or in combination with other cancer treatments. It can be effective as a single agent for:

  • -Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that is resistant to other treatments.
  • -Blastic crises of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
  • -Malignant melanoma that does not respond to other therapies.
  • -Advanced breast carcinoma that is unresponsive to appropriate endocrine surgery and/or hormonal therapy.

Recommended Dosage:

  • -Administer Eldisine intravenously as a rapid bolus injection once a week.
  • -Dosage is based on body surface area (BSA).
    • Adults and Elderly: Start with 3 mg/m².
    • Children: Start with 4 mg/m².
  • -Before each subsequent dose, check granulocyte counts to assess the patient’s sensitivity to the drug. If there is no granulocytopenia or other toxicity, the dosage can be increased by 0.5 mg/m² each week.
