TALTZ is a humanized interleukin-17A antagonist used to treat:
- -Patients aged 6 years and older with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are suitable for systemic therapy or phototherapy.
- -Adults with active psoriatic arthritis.
- -Adults with active ankylosing spondylitis.
- -Adults with active non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis showing objective signs of inflammation
Warning & Precautions
Taltz impacts the immune system and may heighten the risk of infections. Some individuals have experienced serious infections, including tuberculosis (TB), and infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses that can spread throughout the body, sometimes leading to hospitalization.
Avoid using Taltz if patient have had a severe allergic reaction to ixekizumab or any other ingredient in Taltz, such as swelling of the eyelids, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, feeling faint, throat or chest tightness, or skin rash.
Severe skin reactions resembling eczema can occur during Taltz treatment, from days to months after the first dose, sometimes requiring hospitalization.
Taltz can trigger or worsen Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease)..
Patient should not receive live vaccines while taking Taltz. Ensure patient get the necessary vaccines before starting Taltz.
