Medical Use

Livmarli is the only FDA-approved medication and an ileal bile acid transporter (IBAT) inhibitor commonly used to treat cholestatic pruritus (itching) in patients with Alagille syndrome (ALGS) who are 12 months and older.

Recommended Dosage :

If you are taking bile acid-binding resins, Livmarli should be taken at least four hours before or after the resin. The recommended dosage is 380 mcg per kg once daily, taken 30 minutes before the first meal of the day. Start with 190 mcg per kg taken orally once daily; after one week, increase to 380 mcg per kg once daily, as tolerated. For those weighing over 70 kg, the maximum daily dose is 3 mL or 28.5 mg.

If a dose is vomited or missed, it should be taken as soon as possible within 12 hours of the usual time. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule.
