XERMELO is a medication prescribed for adults with carcinoid syndrome diarrhea who do not achieve sufficient control with somatostatin analog (SSA) therapy alone. It is taken in conjunction with SSA therapy to help manage this condition.
Warning & Precautions
Avoid taking XERMELO if you have a known allergy to telotristat or any of its components. Constipation is a potential side effect of XERMELO and can become serious. Discontinue use and consult your doctor if you experience severe constipation or persistent, worsening abdominal pain.
Common side effects of XERMELO include nausea, headache, elevated liver enzymes, depression, gas, reduced appetite, swelling in the hands and feet, fever, abdominal pain, and constipation.
Inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking, as some may interact with XERMELO. Additionally, XERMELO is not recommended for individuals with moderate to severe liver impairment.
